Ralph James Fuhrman
1931 - 2012

Ralph James Fuhrman. Born February 10, 1931, in Beach, ND, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 6th, 2012, surrounded by his family. While Ralph had many jobs throughout his life and was a jack of all trades and master of most he finally settled in at Boeing and was a manager in the BAC facilities division. He retired from there after 20yrs at age 62 and began “snow birding” to Casa Grande, Arizona for the winter months for the next 15 years. Once he got back from AZ he counted the days until he could get back up to Mineral Lake with his fishing buddies. A place where he had fished for the past 60 plus years. Ralph was a Mineral Lake legend for his friendliness, knowledge, and kindness to all people as well as his uncanny abilities to catch the elusive adversary known as the rainbow trout. Of course he did have an unfair advantage over the average fisherman since he had mastered the art of tying flies. He had named his new fly “The Fuhrmanator” and it too became legendary just like the creator. Being who he was he gladly shared them with his friends so they could catch some big fish too.

A loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and cherished friend to so many he will be sorely missed, except of course by the Mineral Lake trout.

He is survived by Mary, his wife of 37 years; brother Bob; sons Mark, Steve, and Lance; stepsons Ken and Clayton; stepdaughters Elaine and Kathy; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Don and his son Scott.

A memorial service will be held in Lakewood, WA at Mountain View Cemetery’s Garden Chapel at 2:00pm on October 19, 2012.

The Fuhrman family has set up a memorial page on the internet where you will find photos, memories.  Here is a note from his son Lance:

"Ralph  loved spending his time and being with his many friends up at Mineral Lake.

Here is a website we set up for him.  http://www.forevermissed.com/ralph-james-fuhrman/

It will be there forever, so if folks want to stop by see photos, leave stories, etc.  they can do it anytime.

If folks have photos or other things they want uploaded they can contact me.

Thanks again for helping out at this very sad and difficult time.

 Lance"
